Charity & Fundraising

Doing our bit for others...

One of Tong’s key values is for students and staff to support, help and encourage each other.

Organising an Event?

If you are a student or parent interested in holding a fundraising event or activity with the school’s support, please Contact Us.

This consideration for others is also true of Tong's approach to vulnerable people and important causes in our immediate community and around the world.

We run regular fundraising events and activities to do our bit for others, from Christmas concerts to bake sales, sporting challenges to dress-down days.

Tong Raises £2821.58 for Charities in Memory of Mr Goodyear

Mr Goodyear taught English at Tong High School for many years. After a long battle with leukaemia, Mr Goodyear sadly passed away in July 2015.  As a school, during the academic year 15/16 we were committed to raising money for two very special charities which are important to Mr Goodyear’s family and friends: The Annette Fox Unit at the B.R.I. and Bloodwise– Leukaemia Research.

Thanks to the support of pupils, staff, partners and families we are delighted to announce that we have been able to raise £2821.58 in memory of Mr Goodyear.

Throughout the year we held collections, hosted bun sales, book sales, raffles, sold badges and much more… our corporate Christmas Cards this year were bought from The Annette Fox Unit and in June alongside 5,000 triathletes staff member Rachel Le Borgne (Timetable, Assessment & Examinations Manager at Tong) entered the Leeds Triathlon. Rachel is raised £500.62 for Bloodwise.

Mr Goodyear was a dedicated teacher, friend and encourager. He enriched the lives of countless young people at Tong and he is sorely missed.

We know many others gave directly via Just Giving in memory of Mr Goodyear. We also know his friends recently raised and additional £2,000 for The Annette Fox Unit by doing an Iron Man challenge.

We would like to thank everybody for their support. If you would like to make a donation please visit or
