Over 50 Tong High School students have embarked onthe level 2 introductory certificate in team leading course. The course allows students to learn about:
- Personal & professional development
- Working and dealing with others
- Information and communication
- Using resources and planning work
- Building and developing teams
- Coaching and feedback
- Report writing
The initial response from students is extremely positive with high levels of engagement and motivation.
Many students will be looking for employment in eight months time and recognise the importance of business awareness and in developing skills and qualities that employers seek.
Students say “This will really help me when I am applying for a job next year”, “It’s really good fun and you learn loads about yourself”, “I can see now the skills that I need to improve in order to be successful in my chosen future career”.
Staff teaching the course are very complimentary about the lesson plans and resources that enable them to deliver high quality learning experiences for students.
This will certainly be a course that staff would like to continue to deliver with future cohorts of students.
