Year 7 Foundation was created in 2001 to aid the transition from Primary to Secondary school. It is a cluster of subjects taught by the form tutor in a “home base” classroom. The subjects covered now include English, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Citizenship and ICT. All Foundation lessons are taught by a dedicated and highly skilled team of teachers. The main aim of Foundation is to develop the most effective practice for this age group. Underpinning all the work done in the department is an underlying focus on Literacy.
