Performing Arts

The aims of teaching Performing Arts in our school are for students to develop and experience:
- Enjoyment and engagement in all of the Performing Arts
- Raise self esteem, self confidence and the capacity to express ideas, thoughts and feelings through the Performing Arts disciplines
- Develop creativity and imagination
- Develop an understanding of a range of techniques, strategies, forms and skills used in Performing Arts
- Sensitive, analytical and critical responses to various aspects of Performing Arts
- An interest in theatre as part of our cultural heritage
Facilities
As a second specialism in Performing Arts, we are lucky to have many state of the art facilities. Including:
- 2 Drama Studios
- Dance Studio
- 2 Music Rooms
- Band Room
- 2 Music Practice Rooms
- Green Room
There is also a large theatre in which performances take place.
The drama studios, dance studio, and theatre also have lighting and sound systems to make every performance have a professional feel.
The drama studios and green room provide an excellent backstage area for when performances are taking place in the theatre.
