Fifteen students from Year 9 have established a Peer Mentoring system in Tong High School to help students in Year 7, 8 & 9 discuss and sort out minor conflicts. The fifteen students aim to encourage all students to take more responsibility in avoiding confrontation and also to be pro-active in resolving any conflicts they might have.
The fifteen students who are now trained Peer Mediators have organised an appointments system, feedback and the roles of each student involved themselves.
The Peer Mediators will be involved in the training of younger students to become Peer Mediators in the next Academic Year.

Peer Mentoring for Years 7, 8 & 9 – Referrals to be made via Team Leaders for low level conflict only.
Students will be given a separate pre-meeting with Peer Mediator prior to full meeting.
At the end of the each meeting students will be asked if they feel their issues have been resolved, if not, they will be offered another meeting.
If the issues are still not resolved then Team Leaders will step in and deal with the conflict.
