THS6 SEN Policy
The 6th form team has a wealth of experience in supporting and guiding all THS6 students. It is the ambition of the THS6 team, that every young person with special educational needs reaches their full potential in school, and can make a successful transition to adulthood and the world of further and higher education, training or work.
THS6 is an inclusive 6th form, delivering a range of courses at all 3 levels. Individual interviews with the AHT responsible for post 16, allows structured and supportive guidance and allocation for all students onto the appropriate level and courses, depending upon their previous successes and future aspirations.
A variety of enrichment activities for all post 16 students allows students to develop not only in the academic aspect, but also in their social and communication skills. All level 2 students undertake a certified Management course- which develops their organisation and team building skills. Level 3 students complete the Leeds Met, Progression Module course, which supports and prepares them for further and higher education.
