The Writers Charity

Our community supports various charities. The Writers community has recently supported Bradford Night Stop. They try to provide young homeless people in Bradford with temporary and emergency overnight accommodation.

Points

Each community can earn points. Students earn points for attendance and academic effort and achievement. There are also a number of competitions and challenges whereby our students can earn points for their community. The Writers were the first community to win the annual points trophy 2007-2008.  Current point scores.

Student achievements

Student achievements are regularly celebrated within the Writers community. Each term students receive certificates and rewards for effort and attendance. Students also receive rewards known as ‘Friday Six’ for exceptional effort and achievement. Students can also claim prizes for completing their ‘Points cards’ Writers – Student Achievers

Key Events

Each term a number of events and challenges are organised by the communities. Sometimes these events are organised to support our charities or simply to encourage competition and enjoyment.

Attendance

Our community is constantly working to improve our attendance. Tutor groups who show improved attendance are rewarded. For example the tutor group with the best attendance figures are treated to a free breakfast.
